Inventory Management in
Business Central
Know what you have, where it is and what it cost — across shops, warehouses and 3PL, with barcode scanning instead of paper lists.
Accurate stock is the whole business
Wrong stock figures mean over-selling, emergency purchasing and dead inventory sitting in the corner of the warehouse. Business Central posts every movement — receipt, transfer, pick, sale, return — the moment it happens.
Because inventory and finance share one ledger, your stock valuation and cost of goods sold are always in step with the balance sheet.
- One stock figure across shops, warehouses and online
- Bin-level accuracy with handheld scanning
- Valuation (FIFO, average, standard) always tied to the GL
Warehouse-grade control inside your ERP
Configured from 20+ years of real warehouse rollouts in Hong Kong, mainland China and Australia.
Multi-location & transfers
Shops, main warehouse, overflow storage and 3PL all tracked separately, with in-transit visibility on transfers.
Bins & put-away rules
Directed put-away and pick guide staff to the right bin, so new hires work accurately from day one.
Barcode scanning
Receive, pick, pack and count with handhelds via m-In WMS — no paper lists, no re-keying into the office PC.

Questions SMEs ask us
Straight answers about getting stock under control.
Do we need the WMS add-on, or is Business Central enough?
If you have one location and modest volume, Business Central's built-in inventory and basic warehousing is usually enough. Once you have bins, multiple pickers, or need scanning at receiving and picking, our m-In WMS for NAV/BC pays for itself quickly by removing paper and re-keying.
Can it handle stock held at a 3PL or overseas warehouse?
Yes — each 3PL or overseas site is set up as its own location, with transfers showing in-transit quantities. Where the 3PL provides a feed or API, we integrate it so their movements post automatically instead of arriving as a monthly spreadsheet.
How accurate can we realistically get?
Clients moving from spreadsheets to scanned receiving, picking and cycle counting typically reach 98–99% accuracy within a few months. The gain comes from counting regularly and scanning at the point of movement, not from the software alone.
Will our online shop and POS share the same stock?
Yes. We integrate your e-commerce platform and POS so all channels draw from the same stock figures, with buffer rules if you want to hold safety stock back from online selling to avoid over-selling.
